Eric Poulos is the Manager – Knowledge and Education Services at Devine Law at Work.  He has extensive experience as a Manager and as coordinator of both Projects and Events.  He has over 30 years experience in the social welfare field and has a particular interest in disability issues, community relations, workplace diversity and education.

Eric’s qualifications include a Masters of Arts (Social Work and Social Studies) and Bachler of Social Studies, both from Sydney University.

Eric’s career includes work as Manager of Community Services at both Lane Cove Council and Hornsby Council, Senior Policy Officer at the Anti-Discrimination Board, Senior Community Worker at Waverley Council, Coordinator of the Marrickville Youth Resource Centre, Youth Worker at Marrickville Legal Centre and as Policy and Projects Officer at the NSW Association of Child Welfare Agencies.

Eric has extensive experience in managing staff and has consistently received outstanding feedback from team members reporting to him.   His skills in performance management, conflict resolution, facilitation, mediation and conciliation have been applied to a range of workplaces.  He is passionate about mentoring and supporting staff to bring out their potential and improve their satisfaction and output through performance management and supervision. 

Eric’s seminal research on language use in local government – in particular the use of languages other than English – which formed the basis for the evidence he gave to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission, contributed to the introduction of an allowance for employees making use of their language skills into the local government award. 

Eric has coordinated projects as diverse as research into homelessness and out of home care, to disability and age discrimination and implemented access and equity policies into workplaces leading to cultural change.  He was a member of the Disability Advisory Committee to the Sydney Olympics helping make the 2000 Olympics one of the most inclusive and accessible in history. 

Eric has developed policies for a range of organisations, with a  special interest in workplace diversity, inclusiveness and conflict resolution.   These policies reflect his extensive practical understanding of issues which arise in the workplace.

In his role at Devine Law at Work, Eric plays a pivotal role in directing, marketing and enabling our commitment to enhancing the expertise of leaders and managers in business and other organisations in employment law and people management.
